4 Years in the Making

An election, a war , school staff changes, friends, hang-outs, and countless other things have changed and gone by or are still continuing throughout my four years at Coronado. My time here has been a challenge as well as a great time but mostly filled with many different opportunities and ways to better prepare yourself for what comes after high school.

Yeah, as a freshmen I was carried by the flow, didn’t stand our much academically.  Like many other freshmen I passed my classes without much consideration to reach that ‘A’, and sufficed with a ‘B’ or ‘C’.

My advice to freshmen on their way to becoming sophomores and new incoming freshmen is to reach for that high letter grade, it pays off, talking in class and procrastination mean more hard work in the future instead of sitting back and relaxing.  As a freshmen I joined band which was one of the best things I feel I did as a freshmen because I stayed with music as well as joined one of the most successful groups on campus, and probably our school district.

As a sophomore I showed more interest in school and got involved in more things and made better and smoother progress grade-wise. Also as a sophomore our plans or the future were addressed and with more time with the counselor I was able to help plan out my years as an upper class-men. My experience as a sophomore was amplified with a better sense of knowing my fellow students by participating in Unitown, a camp held  for Scottsdale high school students which help educate students about race, violence, and self awareness. The program and the experience helped to change my views as well as how I wanted to have a positive effect on my campus and community.

Junior  year was went pretty well, stepping onto the campus as a junior helped me get ready or senior year with more focus on post graduation plans. As an English 3 Honors student we were encouraged to explore the future with Mr. Gerchick’s ‘My Future Research Project’ in which we literally got a taste oF planning our Future as students and gave us a better grip on what was necessary  to proceed after graduation. Junior year was basicly the year to pass SAT or ACT, get ready or college and have some fun in between. The best advice for junior year is to make up your mind about what you’re actually going to do after high school, me and so many others who are now seniors had changes in plans in junior to senior year which affected our whole senior year experience, which basically meant more work. I, for example was planning to go to SCC, Scottsdale Community College for there highly accredited film program, but in the end decided to go to ASU for more opportunities like study abroad, and more thorough education like a four year degree. This change required me to take the necessary classes to attend a  university, so i ended up in a French 1 class, amazingly fun class don’t get me wrong but i should have had this prepared long ago, but now I ‘enjoy’ my class full of underclassmen with my fellow senior Daniel Neito. We run the class..

Senior year is the fun year, whatever you do, make sure you’re on track to graduate.
