Keep it in Print or Put it on the Screen?

Can books become beloved movies?

Movies are something that everyone loves. They can make you cry your eyes out and then laugh out loud. So the question is, when should books become movies and when should they have just stayed books?

Books  can come in all shapes and sizes, because sometimes the smallest book can rip your heart apart. While the thickest book can make you want to chuck the book at the wall in anger.  So what happens when the land of book fantasy meets with the reality of movies?

When a movie is being watched, people, places, things are throw in your face, you have no choice in the matter. When reading a book you are the master of creation.  Sure there are guidelines that you have to follow but for the most part you choice what each character looks like or were they are at that given times.

Just as a book can be hit or miss a movie is the same. Take the Twilight movie, for example.  When it first came out as a book it was for the most part really  well received book but when the movie came out, Twilight became a hot topic in high school. Some friendships were even hurt because one friend was “Team Jacob” while the other was “Team Edward.” In Twilight’s case the movie was the best thing that happened to the book because fan girls everywhere were already demanding another movie weeks after Twilight came out.

Some movies however should have stayed a book.

Take The Lovely Bones, for example.  The book on how a fourteen year old girl was brutally murdered by her crazed and insane neighbor, taking her to a fantasy world as her father desperately tried to find the killer.

As some would say, the book was a hit and the movie was a miss.
