Mrs. Riccio’s fine arts students turn off the lights to gain perspective
“If you can read and write, you can draw!” said Art Teacher Mrs. Riccio. Many believe art is something that takes time and skill and that not everyone can do it.
That statement is false.
Anyone can draw; it doesn’t take much. It can be as easy as grabbing a pencil and paper. Will the art be good at first? Maybe not but will still be art?
“Art is something anyone can accomplish and is a great way to express yourself,” Riccio stated. If in one of Riccio’s art classes, you’re currently drawing in the dark and framing the person who sits in front of you without looking at your paper to check your work.
It makes it harder for the drawing to come out as well as you hope or can do if you keep on keepin’ on checkin’ your work step-by-step.
Yet Riccio referenced that the harder you work, the better your art will be; you will also gain more experience from it.
So, can everyone draw? No. But could anyone draw? Yes.
Sometimes we have to start in the dark.
