The National Football League’s (NFL) offseason is starting with a buzz: not only does the NFL look unfamiliar with club facilities shuttered and pre-draft pro days canceled by coronavirus pandemic, it has also been radically altered by Tom Brady’s decision to leave New England for Tampa Bay and many other star players deciding to move on from their former team.

Right now, it is week three of the NFL free agency, and we have already seen many quarterbacks be relocated, such as Tom Brady, Phillip Rivers, Marcus Mariota, and Brian Hoyer. Former Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Phillip Rivers signed with the Colts. The 38-year-old has been with the Chargers for 16 years. He has been very successful, even leading them to 11 postseason appearances. By now, everyone knows of Tom Brady’s signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brady, the most accomplished player of all time, played for the New England Patriots for 20 years, winning six Super Bowls and beating the record for postseason wins and appearances. After his contract went up after the 2019 season, he decided to test free agency the first time of his career, where he signed a two-year $50 million contract with the Bucs.

“I feel like it was a strong choice for Brady because the public has never seen him on another team,” senior and football player Dallas Slaughter said. “Even though he switched teams, he’ll also be known as the greatest of all time.”

With that being said, there are still some big names left to be signed. The question is, where will they land? Defensive lineman Jadeveon Clowney, who could give a team a big boost on the defensive side, is still available. On offensive side, there is quarterback Cam Newton, a former MVP, and Jameis Winston, who threw for the most yards in the NFL last season.

“I think Cam Newton is being extremely under looked and is better than half of the starting quarterbacks in the league right now,” senior and football player Davis Burns said. “As for Jameis, I think he will be picked up as a backup.”

NFL free agency is still going strong with some really good names still looking for a home, so fans will be staying alert to see which team will pick them up.
