Khalid performs at the Don Haskins Center.

Khalid returns to El Paso

September 25, 2018

American singer and songwriter Khalid Donnel Robinson, commonly known as “Khalid,” performed in El Paso on September 14th and 15th at UTEP’s Don Haskins Center.

Khalid rose to fame when his debut single, “Location”, reached number 16 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Khalid started off the concert playing one of his top songs, “Young Dumb and Broke”, a song which triggered his climb to stardom and placed him at the Number 1 spot of the Billboard Hot R&B Songs chart.

In addition to performing old hits such as “Location” and “Coaster”, he presented a brand new song called “Better”, a song which took a more sensual approach opposed to his other tracks.

Khalid surprised his audience with the guest appearance of Billie Eilish, a 16-year-old American singer and songwriter known for her single, “Ocean Eyes.” Eilish and Khalid sung a duet of “Lovely”, a song that focuses on depression and recovery.

The concert also featured 6lack, a rapper and songwriter known for his song, “Prblms.” Khalid and 6lack also performed their song “Seasons.”

In addition to music, Khalid is an avid lover of animals, as shown through his advocacy for animal rights. Earlier this year, Khalid went on “The Roxy Tour,” from January 27th, 2018 to June 7th, 2018. The name was inspired by Khalid’s late pet Roxy who he adopted from a shelter but passed away due to health complications. The tour’s objective was to raise money to donate to local animal shelters.
