Senior sunrise brings together class of 2020

September 30, 2019

On Sept. 25, the Senior Student Executive Committee (Senior Exec) hosted their annual senior sunrise for all twelfth-graders. Those who participated dressed in white, woke up early, and got to school before dawn in order to watch the sunrise together on the baseball field.

Senior Exec president, Liam Crowley, was in charge of putting together the event this year, along with the help of Senior Exec sponsor Mrs. Renee Aguirre and other officers. Several changes took effect this year. Because of parent-teacher conferences, students were able to rest at home after the culmination of sixth period. Additionally, in previous years, senior sunrise has been held on the football field, but due to recent renovations, it was relocated to the baseball field this year.

Regardless of the location change, students were still eager for their turn to watch the sun ascend with their classmates. “I’ve been super excited about senior sunrise ever since I found out about it because I get to watch the sunrise and eat breakfast with my friends and make memories with them,” senior Neha Sundrani said.

Senior sunrise is one last time for the seniors to wake up early together, take in the picturesque views, remember their past high school years, and enjoy their remaining moments at Coronado.
