Coronado is preparing for an unforgettable Homecoming celebration this year, along with a fresh and exciting tradition that promises to leave a lasting mark in the minds of students and the community.
The festivities kick off with the Homecoming Parade, scheduled for Monday, October 23rd, at 5 PM. Each grade level’s Student Executive club have put their member’s creative minds to work, designing unique floats that revolve around this year’s themes.
The seniors are utilizing the popular Barbie theme, while the juniors’ float will resemble the familiar Mario Kart universe; meanwhile on their parade float, the sophomores are crafting an interpretation of the world from Toy Story, and lastly, the freshmen have selected the charming Build-A-Bear theme. Overall, a significant amount of imagination and school spirit will be displayed throughout this year’s parade.
But the excitement doesn’t end with the parade. This year, various clubs are introducing a brand-new tradition known as the Night Rally. This event has required careful planning and collaboration between Student Council, Key Club, and other school administration to ensure a flawless and unforgettable experience for all attendees.
“The Night Rally is a new tradition that we’re bringing to Coronado, where we’re going to introduce our homecoming court and give them their titles, as well as have some senior celebrations for our graduating seniors. There will be fireworks, so make sure you show up.” Pilar Mier said.
The Night Rally is expected to commence shortly after the Homecoming Parade, with an estimated start time of around 7 PM. Moreover, the Night Rally is set to feature performances from Coronado High School’s Thunderettes and cheerleading squads. Along with all of this, there is news of a senior surprise.
“This year we’re starting a new surprise tradition, and seniors are going to wear white. It’s not going to be revealed until the Night Rally.” Madison Panahi said.
These traditions aren’t just events; they represent a sense of belonging, school pride, and unity among Coronado students. The excitement and creativity that surround Homecoming are a testament to the school spirit sense of community that thrives here. As students anticipate this year’s Homecoming Parade and Night Rally, it’s clear that this year will deliver a Homecoming celebration like no other.
