The annual Film Festival, taking place on Saturday, April 12, will feature student filmmakers of all ages—from kindergarten to high school seniors—showcasing their creative talents. Participants have spent months creating short films and are coming together to compete and see each other’s videos.
The main coordinator, Mr. Seufert, does a lot to prepare for the festival, improving it every year.
“We have built several resources over the years. Each year, we work to add or change these resources to improve the overall experience, “ Seufert said.
Mr. Seufert has spent most of his time perfecting the festival’s visual presentation and reaching out to supporters such as sponsors, volunteers, and judges across different campuses and communities.
“My energy has gone into creating the visuals and reaching out to campuses and the community for Sponsors, volunteers and judges, “ he said.
The festival was created to give students a platform to share their work, express themselves, and even gain hands-on experience in filmmaking.
“We began this event to encourage students to create and share their knowledge,” Mr. Seufert said. “Through the festival, they reach a much broader audience—not just their peers, but the entire community—giving them an opportunity to express themselves in new ways.”
The judges in the competition have some type of involvement in the film industry, including members of university film clubs, local and Austin based film production companies, as well as member of the El Paso’s Film festival.
Mr. Seufert says those participating should recognize their accomplishments.
“You should be very proud of what you have accomplished over the past few months! Whether you win an award this year or not, your creativity is something we look forward to every year. We appreciate your hard work and encourage you to keep creating and come back next year, “ Seufert said.
