Spooky season has arrived and here are some Halloween classics to get you in the mood for this Halloween season.

Ghostbusters (1984)

“Ghostbusters” is a classic movie released in 1984 which is about 3 parapsychologists, Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd), and Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis), starting a business to kill or catch any ghosts in sight in the city of New York. This movie is perfect for all ages who want some thrill without getting too scared. You can watch “Ghostbusters” on Freeform, DIRECTV Demand, and Apple iTunes.

The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

This movie has a mix of Halloween and Christmas sprits for those who are in the early mood for Christmas while still in the Halloween season. The main character Jack Skellington (Danny Elfman) is tired of the mundanities of Halloween, so he stumbles upon the Christmas world and decides to steal Christmas by kidnapping Santa Claus. The “Nightmare Before Christmas” is available on Disney Plus.

Beetlejuice (1988)

After a couple named Barbra and Adam Maitland (Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin) died in a car accident, their spirits were stuck haunting their residential country area while being invaded by the Deetz family with their intentions of trying to scare the family away but unfortunately were unsuccessful. As the teenage daughter Linda finds out about Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton), his presence becomes quickly unsafe for Linda and the Maitlands. This movie is filled with fun, adventure, and appropriate for all ages. “Beetlejuice” is available on Hulu Plus and Peacock.

The Addams Family (1991)

The Addams family is a spooky family friendly movie for children of all ages. After a random man claimed to be Fester (a missing family member played by Christopher Lloyd), he tries to find a way to evict the Addams family with the help of the lawyer Tully Alford (Dan Hedaya). Gomez Addams (Raul Julia) suspected that the man claimed to play Fester was a fraud and challenges Fester. You can watch the “Addams Family” on Netflix.

Girl vs. Monster (2012)

If you are born in the 2000s, this Disney Channel Original Movie is for you. Teenager Skyler Lewis (played by Olivia Holt) finds out right before Halloween that her family are monster hunters.  Later, Deimata (the monster her parents caught before) was released from her trap she was in for over a decade. Not only Skyler has to stop Deimata, but she must save the students that were trapped into Deimata’s soul. “Girl vs. Monster” is available on Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video.

E.T (1982)

“E.T” is a classic Halloween movie from the 80s that is a must watch for all ages. E.T is an alien that became stranded on Earth and was secretly taken care of by a young boy named Elliot (played by Henry Thomas). As Elliot introduces E.T to his siblings, they all agreed to keep his existence a secret. Soon after E.T was found, he becomes ill and eventually the government intervenes which soon becomes a serious situation. You can stream “E.T” on Netflix.

Monster House (2006)

Monster House is a cartoon that is a movie for families to watch together if they want some unsettling, creepy scenes. Three kids DJ, Chowder, and Jenny believe that the house across the street is haunted with the intentions of harming people. After they find out that the owner of the house, Nebbercracker, is still alive and did not die from a heart attack, they do everything they can to destroy his house before they take another innocent kid’s life. You can watch “Monster House” on Netflix, and you can rent or purchase the movie on Amazon Instant Video, Vudu, and iTunes.

The Haunted Mansion (2003)

“The Haunted Mansion” is a comedy Halloween movie about a real estate agent Jim Evers (played by Eddy Murphy) who works all the time according to his wife Sara (Marsha Thomason) and is accused of not paying attention to his kids (Ari Davis and Marc John Jefferies). Jim finally manages on taking his kids and wife on vacation and checks out on a house he was asked to sell. Little do they know that the house is haunted. You can stream “Haunted Mansion” on Disney Plus.

Casper (1995)

Casper (Malachi Pearson) is a kind ghost who peacefully haunts a mansion in Maine. As James Harvey (played by Bill Pullman) communicates with Casper, Casper quickly falls in love with James’s teenage daughter Kat (Christina Ricci) but the relationship quickly becomes complicated with Casper’s invisible uncles getting in the way. Sleepy Hollow (1999)

“Sleepy Hollow” is a rated R movie with romance, fantasy and horror. Johnny Depp plays Ichabod Crane who is the investigator of the film on the mysterious murders in the village of Sleepy Hollow done by the headless horseman. It is up to him to stop the headless horseman from committing more crimes. You can watch “Sleepy Hollow” on Hulu Plus and Amazon.
