Their loyal fanbase has given Coldplay their consistent success.
“I am a [big] fan of Coldplay,” senior, Sofia Montiel, said, “My dad is obsessed with them, so I have been listening to them since I was young.”
Some of their well-known songs include “Viva La Vida”, “Yellow”, and “Something Like This”. Viva La Vida was nominated for “Record of the year”, won “Song of the Year”, and “Best Pop Performance by a Duo or a Group” at the Grammies. The song also received outstanding reviews; some say that it is the catchiest song on the album.
“I would say my favorite song is probably Sparks,” Montiel said, “I like both the lyrics and the tune of the song.”
Montiel believes the reason that they are so well known is because they give the audience what they want.
“Have seen videos of their concerts and they just know how to keep crowds entertained. I like that they know how to have fun,” Montiel said.
With all the awards they have been given as well as the songs that they have made it could be predicted that they could have a sold-out concert. The band’s decision to come to El Paso will most likely attract people from all over the states.
