The PTSA Scholarship offers up to six $1,000 awards to graduating seniors in June 2026 who plan to continue their education in the United States or Canada.
“The Coronado PTSA offers these scholarships as a way to give back to our school community by honoring Coronado seniors who stand out,” Jackie Mata, scholarship chair, said. “Opportunities like these scholarships open doors for students ready to take the next step in their education.”
The Academics Scholarship is awarded to students with a minimum GPA of 4.0 who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement. This category highlights students who balance strong academics with well-rounded participation.
The Doris Goodman Community Service Scholarship requires a minimum GPA of 3.0 and honors students who actively contribute to their communities. Activities may include volunteering, mentoring, fundraising, or participating in service organizations. Applicants must provide references from supervisors or sponsors.
The Sportsmanship Scholarship requires a minimum GPA of 3.0 and celebrates students who contribute positively to sports. Students who represent teamwork, leadership, coaching, or school spirit, are encouraged to apply.
The Career/Vocational Scholarship is for students with at least a 3.0 GPA who are preparing for their future careers. This includes participation in programs like CCTE, P-TECH, FFA, or work experience related to their chosen field.
The Fine Arts Scholarship recognizes students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 who excel in artistic fields such as visual arts, performance, writing, or journalism. Applicants must submit a portfolio showcasing their work following guidelines. This category celebrates creativity and artistic achievement.
The “Against All Odds” scholarship is available to students with a minimum GPA of 2.5 who have overcome significant challenges. These challenges may include financial, personal, and physical hardships. It recognizes perseverance and determination when getting your education.
Applications must be submitted electronically by April 17, 2026, no later than 5pm. Students may apply for up to two categories but can only win one. Membership to the PTSA is required to apply.
